Dear Camels: as the exam period is just around the corner, good luck for your exam preparation!

Here's a quick note from Karen regarding the exam noise policy...

Exam Noise Policy

Please be considerate to your neighbours by not making excessive noise in the Hall, especially during the exam period which is from:
21st October until 18th November, 2011.

Please note: during the exam period (including the weekends) residents and their guests are not permitted to hold get-togethers, organised events or functions (with or without alcohol) in Howitt Hall (including anywhere in the courtyard, basement, projector room and floor kitchen areas) without the expressed prior permission of the College Head or the Deputy College Head.

If you have finished your exams, please take your celebrations off campus.

Residents found to contravene these restrictions and Howitt’s noise policy during this period will face severe disciplinary action.

Hey Camels,

This is a shout out to all Howitt Residents that have played a sport or been a faithful cheerleader.

On the 18th October next Tuesday at 6pm, We will be holding a small little presentation for Howitt.

There will be food and soft drink and some sports award/ certificates presented to the Howitt Sporting Legends of this year.

After that, the MRS sports awards will be held at 7pm in the dining room.

Hey Camels,

The sporting calendar is almost over but fret not, Howitt Hall has one last event for you guys to stretch those muscles one last time before hitting the books during the exam period.

Coming this thursday, 13th October from 5 to 8pm, Howitt Hall will be holding an outdoor extravaganza with fun filled activities.

Ever wished you were back in the days of a care free child? Thursday will be the time where we can all revert to those care free days.

Gourmet BBQ to quel that stomach growling will be served up.

Jumping castles to combat the sugar rush of childish years.

Mechanical Bull to realise the dream of being from the Wild wild west.

And not forgetting the Camelwealth Games.

Games include:

    Bobbing for Apples
    Bocce
    Egg and Spoon Race
    Sack Race
    Hammer Throw

SO COME ON DOWN AND HAVE SOME FUN.

Hello Ladies of Howitt,

you are invited to the inaugural Howitt Hall Girls Night In.  It will
be held on Sunday, October 9th from 5.30-8.30pm in the GFCR.

THERE'S GOING TO BE PSYCHICS DOING PALM AND TAROT CARD READING!

 We're also going to do facials and hair styling.

There'll be mocktails, a chocolate fountain, cupcakes, fresh popcorn

Final Howitt Matters of the Year - Q4/2011!

Dear Camels,

Here's your last chance to leave your mark in Howitt Matters for 2011!

Howitt Matters is looking for contributions from... Peter Parkers, Andrew Bolt replacements, JK Rowlings, future National Geographic photographers, Lonely Planet editors, Rupert Murdoch substitutes, gig reviewers, movie critics, game enthusiasts, travel bloggers - i.e. YOU!

You can submit creative pieces such as:
- essays/short stories - opinion pieces - photos - comics/sketches - poetry - jokes/trivia - random Tweets/musings - travel blogs - TV/movie/gig reviews

* anything that is *fit to publish* (make sure it's not illegal, not defamatory, and keep it clean please!)
* please limit articles to about 500 words for brevity

Hey Hey Gentlemen of Howitt Hall

This Sunday night will be EPIC!!!

I'm no Kanye West, but this will be the most awesome event ever.

So come down this Sunday night to the Howitt Basement Cinema at 5:30PM for the Guys Night In.
There will be free pizza and a poker tournament.
It will also be the unveiling of Howitt's new PS3 racing wheels.

Calling out to all Camels:

On the 11th October Next Tuesday, there will be an interhall mixed hockey game with all the halls coming together to fight for supremacy on the hocky pitch against Mannix from 4-7pm. This will be situated at the hockey pitch on the way to Uni. For those who are interested, sign up sheets will be put up in the Common Room but feel free to register your interest by contacting us.

All levels of hockey experience from none to expert are welcomed. This will be more of a fun event, so let’s all come on down and have some fun :)

Hey Howitt,
As you heard we are only 1 blood donation behind the lead position for
the Vampire Shield! The awards ceremony is on the 18th of October so
we have only a very short time before the race is over. Your donation
isn't just for the Vampire shield, one donation could save 3 lives.

For those of you have donated this year already, make sure you sign up
for the Howitt Hall group at
