About

Howitt Hall is an awesome place to live. We are a thriving community, home to 198 characters from across the world.

Our community is harmonious, respectful and provides a safe, friendly and inclusive environment for everybody.

We have a fun, energetic, and highly trained Residential Support Team (RST) who help our residents adjust to university life, manage the day-to-day running of the Hall, and provide help should it ever be needed. Meet them here.

The Hall opened in 1966 and is named after Alfred Howitt (1830-1908), a scholar who is best known for having led the search for Burke and Wills. To pay homage to Alfred Howitt’s search for Burke and Willis the Halls mascot is a camel.

Since 1966 we have gone from strength to strength. We are highly active in the Monash community and have a history of outstanding success. At the heart of Howitt will always be our residents. Our first priority is always to ensure a safe, happy, respectful environment where our residents can feel at home.
